The jury in Dallas County recently awarded a 16-year-old student and her family millions of dollars based on the way the girl's school, the Episcopal School of Dallas, addressed what Shaun Rabb reports for My Fox DFW as an "improper relationship."
What happened occurred between a history teacher - who did not deny the allegations - and his 16-year-old student. (Rabb reports that the history teacher was 34 years old.)
Despite the settlement, however, there is a criminal charge against the history teacher for sexual assault.
The Episcopal School of Dallas apparently warned the girl that she would be expelled from school if she didn't voluntarily leave, which undoubtedly contributed to the large settlement.
